I have been in sales and marketing for over three decades. I have worked for the best of the best: IBM, Ford, United Airlines, Federal content and GM. I have watched these companies ignore the tiny guys and plunge flat on their faces, to the relentless attack of the guerrilla tactics of what I call street fighting.
In war all is comely! You must do your goal, or you die. When I was working with IBM (Itty Bitty Money), we were the stout guns and we believed no one would ever be able to touch us. We had the majority of the market fragment by focusing on the main frame computer, so there was no need to focus on the minute guy.
So we turned our heads up in the air when Apple came out with their microscopic computer, thinking this dinky thing could never really compete with us because after all… we were IBM!
Within a year of the runt guys showing up, we recognized we needed to reply to their chipping at our fragment of the rock. So we came out with what was called the Junior PC. Nobody considered it to really be relevant, so we objective down-played this miniature computer. I personally gain if IBM would have paid closer attention to the runt guys in the early eighties, they would not have gone through the plunge out they had in the leisurely nineties and the turn of the century.
You peruse, because of this awesome time we live in of technological enlightenment, anybody and everybody can jump into the game with runt or no launch up cost. Not only can they jump into the game, they can become extremely competitive earning a name for themselves very rapidly.
Heck let’s face it, if you want to learn anything and everything you don’t even have to enroll into some four-year program or higher education institution. All you have to do is sit down in front of your computer, in the comforts of your home and have at it!
With the economy being in so considerable turmoil and people loosing their jobs by the droves, everybody and their brother is looking for alternative ways to finish ahead of the game.
The news… they are reporting on everything but the heart of the predicament. The aged system and the veteran method of doing business, has gone forever and the original era is in. The internet is the fresh era. Like it or not, it’s here to cease! And those who are wise enough to jump on this wave and hurry it now, are going to be those who secure themselves in the driver seats in the future.
I predict in the next 3-5 years, 60% of all households in the current world will possess an online business of some sort. And most of them will be those looking for people who understand the game of on-line marketing. Those who can lessen the learning curve for the average Joe will be a hot commodity.
Federal instruct tried and failed at being something they were not, when they tried their “Zap Mail” thought in the mid eighties. At the time I advised them to stick with their niche…10:30AM overnight delivery. Eventually they saw the light and fortunately they did because they are unruffled around today.
United Airlines tried to become the biggest and best airline globally and left their niche market domestic move. They changed the colors of the planes to have a greater global appeal (very awful conception.) by painting their planes. They dropped their theme of “sail the profitable Skies with United.” Now after the aftermath of 911 and the fallout of that tragedy, they serene have not gotten the message. Now the once strong domestic carrier of the United States has become a shadow of what they once where and United has even been divided into calling themselves “Ted.” How ridiculous is that! accumulate the message guys…’Uni’…means one thing. I savor it when I’m prophetic.
I will not even go into GM and Ford, it’s clear. When you throw grand money after terrible, the reply is always dreadful news. Money never helps a problem; it impartial magnifies what’s there already. You have to go to the root cause of the pickle and fix the root cause. Nobody wants to exercise money on a product the moment they drive it off the lot it loses its value. Change your business model and you will acquire.
That’s the beauty of online marketing. And the microscopic guys who are able to compete with the expansive guys true from their desk is this…we have the ability to market anything and everything online and not gain anything unprejudiced form a profit.
I acquire we have the best of both worlds we are in business, but with out the headaches of the brick and mortar.
We are the Sam Walton’s of yesterday, and tomorrow we will be the Wal-Mart’s of today and beyond. Sam knew if he could derive an concept in the head and hearts of the local (social media) community, and they would judge doing business with him before they drove across town to rob more expensive products, he could produce a success business.
You survey he had the power of an concept, which came from a opinion and he establish it into the head and hearts of his community. The rest is history.
The general public is looking for a residence they can go, to employ their hard earned dollars and where they can stretch those dollars further. Guess what they are looking for. Their contain online business!
If you do not have an online business, originate one today. If you have an online business that is floundering, grasp time to educate yourself and learn how to drive traffic to your website 24/7. Disciple yourself to create what I call a “scoot and pay system”, a system you region up and it becomes self perpetuating. It does not even matter what the product is, as long as it matches your business core values. You can seize it and scoot it into your business and market it and gain a dazzling profit.
