Hawaii’s five shield volcanoes

Hawaii is formed by five shield volcanoes that erupt subsequently. Most of these volcanoes are dormant, ancient, and active but not currently erupting, or active. These five shield volcanoes are celebrated status for trekking and camping sites. Some have camping trails built with government permits.

· Mauna Loa- is an active volcano and partly within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

· Kilauea – is aloof active and has been erupting without fail since 1983. It is also section of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Hawaii Islands

Geologists confirm that the islands of Hawaii are detached growing. This is because Volcanoes Mauna Loa and Kilauea are two active volcanoes that withhold on erupting.
